I don't know anything about links, to me a good book is always better.
The best book on Linux networking stack is "Understanding Linux
Network Internals" by Christian Benvenuti. It was published in 2005 by
O'Reilly and it is still the best to start with, although a bit
outdated. BTW it has a whole part (several chapters) devoted to routers.
