I found this for network devices: ls -l /sys/class/net/eth0/device/driver
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 0 2006-02-09 14:16 /sys/class/net/eth0/device/driver -> ../../../../bus/pci/drivers/e1000 which is what I had been looking for.
