OK. So we're on the same page, what gcc and gdb versions? I do recall running into some problems with gcc-4.2. But it's quite possible we missed something we need to adapt for and it's time to play with git bisect (which will be a bit harder than normal since the kgdb patches will need to be pop'd / push'd for each bisect).
