The following are some hotkeys I have on my personal todo list to add. The first two were patched into kicad a couple years ago and gave me a nice boost in productivity but seem to have bitrotted away in the meantime. I'm not sure yet how far I'll get but welcome any feedback.
Tool finish: An 'ok'/ENTER action. Select the no (pointer) tool. If the tool is active, finalize the action (end track, close outline, etc). Toggle last tool: Dual of above and mapped to same key. When no tool is active, select the last tool that was being used. Cancel: The escape key is not always the best... allow remapping. Tool retreat: A backup action. Delete last segment, delete last corner, delete last line segment. Grid toggle: Keep a grid history of 1, toggle to the last used grid. Primarily for flipping between a coarse and fine grid. Technology toggle: For flipping between often used track/via settings. Either toggle last used or toggle through net classes; not sure... Middle mouse button & drag: I'd like to use middle drag as pan instead of center to start with. Meta+mouse wheel could probably be used for better purposes as well. Those are the main things on my short list.
