I think the word you need is 'cohesion'. Also strictly related is 'coupling'. *The* researcher in the area Myers (these are sometimes called Myers metrics); old stuff but still valid (when the paper title is 'Structured Design' you'll get that was a new technique at the time XD). OOP is the next step (well, technically is more or less at the informational/functional level, depending on the language).
