IMO: The support for "Native Language Standard" layer names in *.kicad_pcb files should be dropped. This is because User defined names can be native language, and English Standard names are worth memorizing because they show up in pretty. That support is basically not needed, complicated the code and ensuing discussions. The driver for me is the adoption of English Standard names in the pretty footprint format. It also seems to be some kind of vulnerability WRT translationsdone without a full grasp. Dick See attached.
