Its possible github.com has caught on to what we are doing and is actually trying to help. Everytime we hit the site they have a record of our visit, since we advertise the "web client" in the GET header. Maybe I'm just being optimistic, but 0.05 seconds to fetch a zip file is pretty exceptional. Its possible they've made special provisions for us (read caching).
