Hello every body,
I am using kicad for 4 years now under linux ubuntu. I would like to share
some usability concerns i have with kicad.
- Project Window:
There is no "Preferences" at the project level
There is a big problem when working with kicad when trying to use a set of
preferences from one project to another. every new pcb project need a full
"re" setting of the preferences by going in each sub application (schema,
librairies, pcb).
It will be good to have a central preference point at the project level where
ALL the settings could be set. And then having the ability to
copy/transfert/clone these setting to projects.
- Tables with the parameters:
These feature do not work well in the 2014-jan-14 release. At this point i am
completely blocked on using kicad
- Printing-Publishing:
It is nice to have the full chain schema to pcb files production working one
day i hope . But It is needed also to have a way to publish/print the full
content of the project. I would like to know if somebody has been able to do
that. In my case it is just messy and i am doing screen captures! Quite
stupid is'nt !
I am a big fan of kicad dont take my comments negatively but as a way to
improve things.
