Now that I can compile, it's fairly obvious that the difference in BestZoom() is likely not any issue. The architecture for the window management is slightly different between the two (Pl_editor vs eeschema). Unfortunately, my soak-time with the source is not long enough to offer anything other than functional observations. Unless someone beats me to it - I'll continue to look, as a vehicle to learn the window management architecture, into the cause as a secondary thread to the other features I'm working on.
