There is already direct import of Eagle (XML file format only) boards and footprint libraries in Pcbnew. A tool to convert Eagle schematic and component library file conversion would be helpful. Although this would most likely be temporary. An I/O plugin for Eeschema is planned for the next development cycle. This will allow someone to write a plugin to directly import Eagle schematics and component libraries into Eeschema. However, it would be nice to provide users with a way to convert Eagle schematics and component library files until this happens.
