Hi Javier You might be able to scavenge some stories from the people behind the projects listed on made with KiCad page [1]. I am not sure if they specifically made use of the GAL stuff... but they used KiCad and "the CERN guy" has also contributed to other than the GAL related goodness.
Also I think Andrew made some spiffy boards which took advantage of the PNS router.
