I use a Kensington Expert Mouse on all of my non-laptop machines.

I am not aware of the existence of any other pointing devices. :)

Seriously, though, I doubt that it is a function of the mouse itself, because I 
have been able to get it to crash with the MacBook Pro’s trackpad.
