I could make the unit choice "auto", "mm", "in" where auto = guess at board center, but I'm not comfortable with that since "auto" is not a unit and is not selecting a unit. Another alternative is to add a button to enable/disable the manual offset entry but I have a feeling that will make the GUI look ugly/uglier. I will think about it more.
