I'm seeing more new and not so new developers submitting patches to the developers list and/or bug reports that change the current behavior of KiCad both internally and/or externally. Here is an example https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1500570. It is *always* a good idea to get input from the developers list before making these kinds of changes. There may be serious objections and/or beneficial input from other developers. Just because someone files a but report does not mean that the developers will agree that the change is good for the project. Not to pick on Stefan who went out of his way to write this code (thank you Stefan), but checking before you code can prevent you from wasting you time writing code that may not be accepted by the project. Before you open a discussion, please search the developer's mailing list. Chances are it's already been discussed and rehashing it wastes our limited developer resources. Thank you for you cooperation.
