Hi, the current version of the Linux/debian/RedHad install script has some short comings which I'm attempting to to fix, I have put up a test version with enhancements at http://www.cosmosc.com/kicad/ for developers to try out and give me feed back. It's only be tested on Debian, as I don't have red-hat, so testing there would be of help.
There 3 files there, http://www.cosmosc.com/kicad/kicad-install.sh # the test version of the install script. http://www.cosmosc.com/kicad/kicad-install.sh.sha512 # sha512 has for kicad-install.sh http://www.cosmosc.com/kicad/kicad-install.sh.version # contains the version of kicad-install.sh The script give's extra control how and what is installed and compiled, 1: Install/update/build every thing . 2: Install/update only the build tools. 3: Update sources compile and install KiCad 4: Install only. 5: Check for new version of kicad-install.sh script 6: Install new version of kicad-install.sh script 7: Make new sha512 has and version files for kicad-install.sh 8: Set install directory, IE /usr/local/ or /usr/ or what ever you like. 9: Disable doc's build. 10: Build debug version. 12: Sha512 hash and version files of kicad-install.sh may be on diffident server, thus make it much harder to hack the install script. As you need to compromise both server's Give it a try, and let me know if you think. If it's up to replacing the current install script. Lachlan. PS: I can't get the doc's to build, the current URL for doc's for bzr is out of date.. or damage.. or ? Has any one the correct one for the docs? Lachlan
