Thank you for pinpointing the offending commit. For now, I have just
reverted the commit, as anyway it was not a full solution to the problem
it meant to solve.
Would you share your video card model & drivers version?
There are details are in bug report 1669916 for myself and another user. I
forgot to mention I am using the nvidia-340 closed source driver with an
nVidia GeForce 9500GT video card.
