I had a quick look at
http://ngspice.sourceforge.net/ngspice-eeschema.html#external , where
you still are still using ngspice-28.
Would you mind to switch to tag ngspice-31.3? There have been a lot of
bug fixes an enhancements, many of them initiated by KiCad users. So it
might be good to make the improvements available to everybody.
KiCad for macOS distribution should use this most recent build anyway to
get rid of the annoying crash bug.
