If you are going to be compiling the 5.1.6 release against Boost 1.73, you will probably need to backport the patch given in https://gitlab.com/kicad/code/kicad/-/merge_requests/207 to the branch. I have already cherry-picked it to the 5.1 branch, so the head of both 5.1 and master should compile on it with no patching - only the released version may have issues.
- There are a few Linux distributions currently packaging up Boost 1.73, so please be aware this may be an issue (Steve, you will probably need to add this to Fedora's Rawhide build soon). - Homebrew doesn't have it yet, but there is a PR in progress to bump the version: https://github.com/Homebrew/homebrew-core/pull/53874. -Ian
