Here is the patch although it does not actually fix the problem, a2x
still uses Japanese styles for pl. It is just that dblatex does not crap
out.

So does your two-part build procedure actually make a2x not to feed
Japanese styles to Polish document? Must be some CMake magic indeed.

    Revert part of commit a5002028.
    
    Some changes introduced in the commit a5002028 make dblatex
    crash when building Polish documentation. Revert these
    changes to allow for the build to proceed.
    
    Translation WILL be broken.
