Dear KiCad team, I'm currently using KiCad for both my personal and university projects (running for my PhD in EE) and like to recommend it to my students, although Eagle is still very popular with them. Most are only beginning to learn CAD, so having extensive libraries rather then making own symbols is a big plus.
I would love to contribute to KiCad development and seeing so many waiting PRs it seems like it would be a decent point to do so. Having PRs accepted faster can certainly encourage people to contribute more instead of keeping the work in private libraries.
