FYI, kicad has now entered Debian at the unstable level, hopefully it will migrate down through testing to be available in the next stable release, expected around the end of the year.
It is currently available on 10/13 Debian Linux platforms, 1/2 Debian FreeBSD platform, and should get built for Debian Hurd too. If you find any bugs in the Debian packages please report them through the normal Debian bug tracking system. We hope to do a new upload shortly with the current version, because there is some overhead on putting completely new packges in we stuck with the version we originally started work on. The new release is ready to go, just needs a little more testing. Richard. Please read the Kicad FAQ in the group files section before posting your question. Please post your bug reports here. They will be picked up by the creator of Kicad. Please contribute your symbols/modules to the library folder in the group files section.
