I am using the windows version. Printing boards in my version works, but it is pretty lousy output.....I think it is only really designed for a quick rougth hardcopy, not for anything serious. BTW, there is a prelimary screen whith checkboxes where you must select **what** you want printing and wether you want all on one layer, print layers seperately etc. IF you are wanting to print the board layout to produce the board, then perhaps you should be using the plot menu, which includes an option for postscipt output for using printers.
