For more than 25 years, I was using 'easyPC' on DOS (not on Windows)
to draw both the schematics and layouts. You might smile when you
hear why I couldn't leave it since long and worked with a more
professional program instead. It was simply for the ability to have a
draft area on the schematic and layout sheets (actually the whole
sheet might be seen as draft, since EasyPC was just a drawing
program). But that helped me a lot to think freely on any new
project. Because I didn't need to delete anything while I was trying
different ways to find the best solution for the critical parts of a
new circuit.

Although it is rather impossible to import my hundreds schematics and
layouts drawn with 'DOS easyPC' to 'KiCAD', I have decided lately to
work with KiCAD from now on. It is both friendly and powerful and
most important... alive, thanks to many KiCAD professional members
and users. But I still have a dream that someday a KiCAD project
would be allowed to have, in the least, one draft sheet (one for
eeschema and perhaps another one for PCBnew) that all its items are
ignored during any requested process.

For example in case of 'eeschema', the sheet in a hierarchy project
that has no outside connection could be treated as a Draft Sheet.

I think that solution will be rather very simple to be implemented
but all users will surely love it (by having an area on which they
are free to do whatever they like).
