Hello Our company try to use KiCAD for own small and medium designes at last year. Our company design and production high speed, high resolution digital network cameras (www.elphel.com) and this is open hardware.
This is my opinion about features what needs for me: Eeshema/compounents 1. Can add/remove some fields to properties of symbol. For make description about component replacement, market and etc. 2. Export any fields to BOM list - value and name. Now I can`t export field sheet, and name of renamed fields. 3. Special mode for export, script readable output. With defined delimiter. 4. Exec any external programm/script for other works with exported BOM list. This need for more simple make BOM list in HTML, XML, PDF format, for automatic calculation of budget, automatic make order in the online store and other. Eeshema/Usability 1. Make possible swith to properties of other component from properties of current component. Combo list. For make easily edit properties a lot of components. Checkbox for change focus in viewly area to editing component. 2. Define general value for width of some fields. All/Usability 1. Relative path for folders in working folder. Now KiCAD understand relative path, but when I add some libs it remember absolute path. That is need for send full set of project to other place. 2. Remember last opened path. Pcbnew/General 1. Teardrop propertie for holes and vias contacts. Pcbnew/Usability 1. Swith Off all fields with non showed propertie. 2. Work only with selected layer.
