To Whom It May be Familiar:
I have some questions concerning the way KiCAD operates on my
computer. I've started using it recently and that may explain most of
my problems.
My PC runs WinXP Pro.
I have used only Eeschema, CVPCB, and PCBnew for creating footprints.
I haven't moved further, yet.
The following is my observations on KiCAD behavior.

If I try to add my own component to existing library, it is
remembered only until the program is off. A new library seems to have
a lasting memory.

I have to press Save Schematic Project button and go to File/Save
current sheet then File/Save Schematic project to have the changes
remembered after the program is off and on again. The button on the
top menu alone doesn't work.

If I try to make netlist without annotation immediately preceding it
I get messages about several duplicate components: like "multiple
item C41" etc. I have to run annotation right prior to generating
Netlist.

In the root schematic if I press Hierarchy Push/Pop and try to enter
a sheet, a .sch file is opened. I can really enter a particular sheet
with right designators only immediately after running Annotation. To
enter another sheet I have to run annotation again.

In one case two separate wires were shown as the same in Netlist. I
tried different things, but putting Sheet labels further apart
finally helped. I had 9 sheets associated with the same schematic
file, and only one of them was giving that trouble. But right after
that CVPCB got confused and shifted all footprints (modules) one
position against appropriate components.

If I enter a sheet and want to leave it without doing anything,
message "Schematic modifiedÂ…" pops up anyway.

I hope it is all signs of the same problem and someone is familiar
with it and can advice on rectifying it.
Regards,
Igor
