Frank, This is exactly what I thought was needed. As I see it now the Open Source EDA world is to fragmented. If the programs could share design files it would help a lot. But I guess I don't need to tell you this.
I did not know there was an "EDIF" would you happen to have a pointer the some specs? What can EDIF hold? schematics,PCB layouts, Foot prints?.... I may want to use this and maybe contribute. Have you seen the gEDA progrect's netlist translator?
