  From either Eeschema or Libedit, right click on the component, select "Edit 
Component", the select "Edit".  The "Component Properties dialog box 
should pop up.  Select "Fields".  Select "Value".  Uncheck the "Show Text" 
selection.

  Before you do the copper pour, select the ground net.  The pour will only 
connect to the net you have selected.  Also, you can select how far to keep 
the pour from components and tracks.
