Hi group,

I'm just starting out with using kicad, and I'm having a problem with
printing. It can best be explained with a screenshot, so here is one:

http://mainmast.dyndns.org/kicad-printing.png

The left hand side is what I see in pcbnew, and the right hand side is
what comes out of my printer. As you can see, the printed output is
very crude and uneven compared to to what's shown in pcbnew. I can't
make PCBs with this - some of my smaller tracks actually merge into
one on the printout.

At first I thought this must be my printer having too low a
resolution, but I've since tried printing to postscript and pdf (this
is where the right-hand image comes from) - and it comes out just the
same as on the printer.

It's almost as if it's approximating the lines and pads onto a coarse
grid - but I can't see any settings like that in kicad or in the print
settings dialogs. I'm using debian linux.

Any suggestions as to what's going on?

Thanks,

- Matthew
