Just loaded Windows version of Kicad, excellent looking program but I am stuck at first base. I tried a simple 2 component test circuit and at the PCB layout stage I can't work out how to draw the board outline. Or where the menu is to rotate components. These things are well covered by the help files but don't seem to work as per the help. No matter how many times I click and drag the lines it won't draw the outline. I once got 2 non joined thick yellow lines, which I assume to be edges but could not complete all 4 edges. Most of the time the thin yellow lines come up when I drag the cursor but after releasing the mouse button they disappear and no outline appears.
Has the program has been slightly modified since the help file was written so no longer works as described? I loaded the 81Mb autoinstall version. Am I correct to say that this includes the doc components files so I don't need to download and install them separately? The intall.txt file does not mention this.
