The 2 that I use, 4pcb.com and pcbcart.com, want Gerber Files for each layer - one for the traces, one for the solder mask, a .exl drill file, and an outline diagram. KICAD can produce all these in the PLOT menu. The files are all then zipped into an archive and uploaded to the manufacturers site.
