Hi all,

I just got my first project done using Kicad and I am pleased with the
overall quality of the gerbers and the actual boards made by the
manufacturer. Thanks to Jean-Pierre Charras the original author and
all the other developers and users who contributed to make this a
great PCB software.

Keep up the good work guys!

I also wish to take the chance to point out some minor issues for
improvement:

1) Though I manually made sure I moved all the component designations
away from the pads, I still missed a few of them in the end. If there
is a DRC option to check for silkscreen overlap with pads, that would
be great.

2) In the Add Zones feature, Thermal relief could use more options.
For example, I wish to have more control over the spokes width and the
antipad diameter. I can't find a straightforward way to do it
currently.

3) What is the purpose of setting by default the "Print Pads on
Slikscreen" in the Plot menu item? We always try to keep silkscreen
from overlapping our pads so wouldn't this feature increase that risk?
It would be good to turn it off by default if it is not needed.

And now I need to start another project next week using Kicad again.

Best Regards,
Andy
