I am starting to create some components and stumbled across some
things someone else might have already solved:

- When creating schematic symbols, the name equals the value. Is
there a way to have different name and value, for instance I would
like to have "10K" as value but "SRES 10K 0805 1%" as name?

- When I created the schematics symbol I limited the footprint via
filter to "SM0805". And this was the only one shown in cvpcb but when
I used automatic assiciation it choose SM1206. Bug or feature?

- When creating lines in the footprint editor I can't select the
layer I'm drawing on, I can only change it afterwards. Is there a
better way to do it?

- When creating or changing component footprints I can choose the
layer for lines etc. But can't find a way to chose layers for texts.
I am normally using 2 "Silkscreens", one as silkscreen and one as
printout where the structures are smaller and more information is
shown.

- Finally: Is there a way to change layer names, just for convenience?

Thanks for your help in advance, Heiko

P.S.: Can't resist some comment about the package, sorry: The guys
are doing a great thing creating such a piece of software. I could
never do it, I'm just not enough into application software
development. But isn't C++ a very structured language. I am sometimes
surprised that certain features are not implemented. I would have
thought that it all starts with some primitives like lines and
circles being then compined into shapes being combined to padstacks
and tracks or component using several layers. I guess I am really not
into software development.
