Hi,

I'm new to kicad. I'm trying to make things easy by assigning keys to
commands that I use often. But I find the hotkey binding to be
confusing.

Here's what I did:
1. Create Hotkey config file and save it in kicad/template
2. Check kicad/template in hotkey config location
3. Edit the config file with a text editor. I followed the same
format as the existing ones, e.g. I added
shortcut "C": "Copy Component"

4. After I saved the modified config file and restart eeschema, the
change does not seem to be applied. I checked the .key file and the
line I added is still there but I can't use "C" for copying component.

5. The only success I have is changing the key assigned to existing
commands in the file, e.g. changing zoom-in shortcut to "F6"
from "F1".

Please advise if there is a specific method to assign new shortcut
keys.

Thanks,
Wei Kee
