Just use the Global Labels that eliminate the need to connect them at the root level. Officila argument (past messages) is that you will need a list of files somewhere, so consider the root list to be that ... A better solution would require a new project manager, which in fact is one of todays limitations of kicad, jist my humble oppinion :) Alain
