First I want to thank the developers for an excellent program for
making PCB's.

I have used kicad for more than 6 months, on several machines, and it
has worked fine.

Yesterday I did an install of the Ubuntu kicad package on Ubuntu intrepid.

Like usual, eescema had a problem I solved as usual by installing a
newer version from the nightly builds that I have kept all the time.

It also worked fine.

Then I got tempted to install the newest build from

http://beischer.com/kicad/

and started the program.

Now all looked normal, but the mouse clicks was not working anymore,
neither in the eescema program nor anywhere else on the Ubuntu desktop.

The keyboard was still functional, and the mouse cursor could be moved
as usual, but no reaction to mouse clicks.

I have tried to completely remove the kicad packages and delete the
.kicad file and then reinstall kicad.

The error stays put. If the kicad program is not started all seems normal.

To my understanding the failure of one program should not affect other
programs.

I can avoid the problem by not using kicad, but that is no solution
when I need to make PCB's.

I tried searching for a solution, but without success. Does anyone
know how to get rid of this problem ? As this is a workstation with
lots of other special programs, a reinstall is not an attractive solution.
