hi all,

first of all congratulations to all the Kicad stuff for the great and
impressive job.

I am new to Kicad, and not very expert on PCB development,
I was using Eagle sometime at job, and at home, anyway, i don't want
actually to buy any cad license, and at the same time, i don't want to
use limited versions.
So i chosed to look for an opensource cad, and i chosed Kicad, also
becouse is multiplatform. I hope to have chosed the best opensource
one, or almost one of the best.
So i am starting my knowledge on it, starting a first circuit, and i
would read all the tutorials soon. I have some questions, but mostly
of general PCB development.

1) I am going actually to develop a circuit with a coldfire processor
66Mhz, in a QFP208, a flash memory, some SDRAM, power & rs232 drivers. Is there
some limitation in Kicad i should take in account ?
2) For GND pins, in the diagram component editors, i chosed "power
in", is it correct ?
3) you think for a similar project i would need more than 2 layers or
there is the chance to get routed with 2 only ?
4) datasheets of the coldfire says the plated QFP pins have a wide
from 0.17 to 0.27 max. The pitch is 0.5mm so I decided the smd pad
width as 0.30, is it to much ?

every help is appreciated,

many thanks
angelo
