[kicad-users] Footprint field blank

Hi,

I'm new to KiCad and think that there may be a problem with the edit footprint 
option in EESchema. If I select the Edit Component > Footprint (F) option the 
footprint of the device is initially displayed. If I then select Cancel and 
select the option again, the footprint field is blank. It appears that 
cancelling the option erases the footprint information. Has anyone else 
experienced this problem?
