Thanks John, http://www.judiandjim.com/linkfiles/KiCad3D1.jpg
I tried to export to a .vrl file, but can not find where/how to do that. See the image at the link above. This is PcbNew with 3D Viewer clicked. With the 3D Viewer up, I don't see how to export to a .vrl file. I have Wings3D installed, and am trying to learn how to make footprint 3D parts. It might be possible to export a .vrl file from Winds3D, but I am trying to get the image out of PcbNew that will be viewable on Wings3D. I am having a little trouble learning Wings3D well enough to make some component footprint parts. thanks again, ...Jim H. ----- Original Message ----- From: seroxatmad To: [email protected] Sent: Sunday, September 06, 2009 7:04 AM Subject: [kicad-users] Re: 3D PCB displayed with Wings I am no expert...but export to a .vrl file and i put the file into 3dpackages directory within ki-cad and it worked for me. Only need to actually learn how to make 3d items as i just done a test with a box. John
