I tried to export to a .vrl file, but can not find where/how to do that.
See the image at the link above.  This is PcbNew with 3D Viewer clicked.
With the 3D Viewer up, I don't see how to export to a .vrl file.
I have Wings3D installed, and am trying to learn how to make footprint 3D parts.
It might be possible to export a .vrl file from Winds3D, but I am trying to get 
the image out of PcbNew that will be viewable on Wings3D.

I am having a little trouble learning Wings3D well enough to make some 
component footprint parts.

    I am no expert...but export to a .vrl file and i put the file into 
3dpackages directory within ki-cad and it worked for me.

  Only need to actually learn how to make 3d items as i just done a test with a 
box.
