KiCAD continues to look fantastic! I was hesitant to learn Wings3D, but pretty sure there would be ROI. See the example above. I am creating a footprint with PcbNew for a SSR, and a 3D model with Wings3D. Finally got Wings3D working pretty well. Reference: Sharp PR26MF11NIPF With 3D viewer, a mistake is found in the footprint pad design (pads were too wide). After fixing the footprint, the pads look too close. A modification will improve soldering. Many times modeling pays big when doing engineering work. Here looks like another example that was made possible by KiCAD. have fun, ...Jim H.
