Yes. You determine the subset of modules output to the module position files by the setting in the PCBNEW -> Module properties -> Attributs. (Attributs should be spelled Attributes, program bug.) The tooltip there on your 3 Attribute choices will tell you which of the three to select if you want the part to go into the module position files. There is one file per layer, and I am not a fan of this. I think one file is sufficient for both sides of the board, since the board side is in the files as a separate column. Dick
