Use the "drag" command instead of the "move command".  Even with that, the
traces will be distorted to keep their connection to the object and their other
end.

Subject: [kicad-users] How to move pcb object without breaking previous routes

When I move a PCB object all the connected routes break at the junction
between the highlighted routes and the unhighlighted routes. Is this a flaw in
the software or am I doing something wrong? Any help is appreciated. thanks
