It won't effect it at all. You can route on whatever grid you like, metric or imperial. Make sure you have set Magnetic pads (Under PCBNEW->Preferences->General) to either "When creating tracks" or "always. That way, pads can be off-grid and still connected to because the cursor locates them when they are in close proximity to the mouse pointer. Best Regards, Brian.
