BTW, I'm not sure how closely you guys are following performance, but  
the changes in Kid 0.9.4 and 0.9.5 seem to have slowed down Kid quite  
a bit according to the Genshi benchmarks:

I suspect a lot of that is due to the enhancements to serialization  
flexibility, as the bigtable test is mostly about pure throughput,  
and shows the greatest slowdown.

If there's anything I can do to improve the benchmarks (wrt to  
fairness with Kid) please let me know.
