Hi Andrew, KIM supports pdf/doc format from version 1.6.5.4 on. Make sure you have this one or newer.
Then you can populate such documents via the 'KIM Document Store Population Tool'. But if you're using the API you're left to handle this issue on your own implementing it through gate document. In the later case, please, refer to the GATE documentation.
