Hello in addition to DanKo's comments, I shall mention that although we at Ontotext have not experimented with Solaris, KIM has been successfully installed and operated under Solaris by other organisations.
We would be happy to cooperate with you to find the problems you exprience with Solaris and implement, if necessary Regards Naso ---------------------------------------------------------- Atanas Kiryakov Head of Ontotext Lab, http://www.ontotext.com Sirma Group Corp, http://www.sirma.bg Phone: (+359 2) 8091 555; Fax: 9768 311 ---------------------------------------------------------- ----- Original Message ----- From: DanKo To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Cc: [email protected] Sent: Wednesday, September 05, 2007 11:26 AM Subject: Re: [KIM-discussion] problems with Solaris install Helow Jerry, It might be helpfull to check our online documentation which could be found at: http://www.ontotext.com/kim/docs.html As for the specific problems you are reporting - there must be considered two things: 1) Version 1.7.12.15 of KIM takes advantage of JDK v1.5.0 so it would be necessery to upgrade your Java 2) The Installer itself has two modifications for Windows and for Linux. For SunOS you will have to use "kim_install_1_7_12_15.jar" (what you've allready guessed). Unfortunately we never tested KIM on SunOS and dont't have the opportunity to do so. That's why it may be better approach to install KIM under Linux OS. Hope being helpful.
