The system at FIAT has a need to be updated and enhanced. The system was
written 20 years ago and is using archaic technological tools. The needs of
the users have out grown the system and hence they created several mutually
exclusive peripheral packaged applications to meet their needs and
expectations. These “silo” applications require iterations of
repetitive data entry and validation tasks placing the data at high risk of
being written and saved with data errors which results in high support costs
to maintain the current intensive state of affairs.
A new system must be coded, debugged and tested in .NET that will integrate
all the “silo” application, resulting in the reduction of the increasing
support costs. The new system will have two components – (1) History
Component– maintain the history , including locations, badges, titles , of
all the sanitation employees until separation and a (2) Transfer Component –
the functionality is to process transfer request for the sanitation
employees. Each component requires database and screen design, integration
with other newly developed systems, and SOA compliance.
