Subject: Postfix MIME module - proof of concept

After adding 7BIT/8BBITMIME support to the Postfix queue, I finally
overcame my aversion and built a basic MIME state machine. The
code is about as large as a small SMTP server implementation.

This is an invitation for the experts to throw some mail at my code
and to see how well it holds up. You're especially welcome to craft
some intentionally broken MIME messages.

Once this module is integrated into Postfix, it will give much more
efficient scanning of message headers in attachments - no more time
wasted with running regular expressions over body content. This
code will also drive the 8-bit to 7-bit conversion when sending
mail to ancient systems, as required by RFC 1652.

The complete source code of the MIME module with test files,
build instructions and run instructions can be found at:

 ftp://ftp.porcupine.org/mirrors/postfix-release/experimental/mime.tar.gz
 ftp://ftp.porcupine.org/mirrors/postfix-release/experimental/mime.tar.gz.sig

Note: this is only a stand-alone MIME state engine for testing.
The code is not integrated with Postfix. That would be next, once
the approach taken with this module is proven to be sound.
