Ini perbandingan praktis saja, bukan soal teknis.
dietlibc hasilnya lebih compact, lebih kecil, tetapi sampai sekarang
saya belum berhasil menggunakan shared library dengan dietlibc (memang
belum bisa?), untuk aplikasi yang threaded juga susah pakai dietlibc.
makanya dietlibc saya pakai u/ compile qmail, ucspi-tcp dan
program-program kecil lain.
uclibc lebih besaran dikit dari dietlibc hasilnya, tapi bisa pakai
shared library dengan uclibc, dan support thread.
saya pernah coba compile postfix dengan dietlibc dan uclibc, hasilnya
ndak jauh-jauh beda berhubung postfix menggunakan a lot of 'wrappers'.
akhirnya untuk uucp saya compile postfix pakai uclibc, dibuat shared
library postfix.

kalau postfix dicompile dengan dietlibc kurang lebih sama, kecuali semua
stdio diwrap (mimpi kali ye). qmail+dietlibc menang baik dari sisi
penghematan disk dan memory, postfix+uclibc menang features (hi..hi..).
ini kan sambil siap-siap, siapa tahu besok ada duit buat beli komputer
kecil :-))
