Bad suggestion.
While trying to download mails via POP3-Protocol, one of the following problems might occour, because pmail behaves unexpected in case the winsock is not implemented in a clean manner. There might be no problems while testing your winsock with other winsock-applications: * Not all mails will be downloaded from the POP3-Server and the connection gets lost without user interference. * Only one message will be downloaded and then Pmail quits the session. * You never even get past the message "downloading message 1 of xx" * A "Handshake Error" occours This could be a problem with "blocking sockets". Some Winsocks of differend manufacturers are implementet differently. So the problems arrise. Try to add the -Z 1024 option to your commandline so you will force the use of the slower but more reliable "blocking sockets". You can also select a different SMTP host for use in sending to see if this is a problem in the specific setup of the SMTP server you are currently using. While tracking down the problem, the -Z 32 commandline option might be handy to log the TCP/IP-traffic between WinPmail and your POP3-Host. This will create the tscdebug.wpm file in your home mailbox directory. Important: Your pop3 paswort will be written into this file unencrypted. Delete it before you give this file to anybody else. In case you get the follwing error message from your SMTP-host * 521 - server does not resolve it tells you that a connection could be established but there are other problems as well. Try to use the command line option 4096 as well as the the command line option 1024 (which means use: -Z 5120) to use blocking Winsock Name Resolution calls. If this cures your problems, your Winsock is buggy and should be replaced. -- I solemnly swear that I'm up to no good, http://data.startrek.or.id things left unsaid, http://ryosaeba.wordpress.com -- Right or wrong my list.
