Salute memang dengan Compiz Fusion. Mungkin(?) nanti GNOME 3 akan meniru KDE 4 dengan menyertakan "native" compositing di window manager-nya, karena selama ini desktop Gnome akan selalu membutukan Compiz agar desktop-nya terlihat lebih "indah".. ;) Semakin beragam, semakin banyak pilihan, dan semakin banyak juga kebutuhan heterogenitas user terpenuhi.
